You Shouldn't Live with Even Mild Back Pain

I have a brother who was in a serious car accident years ago, and he experiences intense pain every day as a result of it. When I began experiencing mild, daily back pain, I felt guilty even talking about it, because I know others have it much worse. I then made a decision one day that even though others may have more severe pain than me, that doesn't mean that my milder pain doesn't matter. I began seeing a chiropractor every two weeks, and the decision to finally seek treatment for my pain was a great one. I created this blog to share my story. I want everyone to realize that they should seek treatment for any type of daily pain. Even though there may be others who have it worse, you and your pain still matter, and you should feel no shame in seeking treatment.

The Signs Its Time To Book A Chiropractic Appointment For Sciatica

Sciatica is one of the most painful back injuries you may find yourself facing as you grow older. There are many causes of sciatica, including specific movements, a sedentary lifestyle, and much more. If you have concerns about sciatica, there are some signs that it may be time to book a chiropractic appointment.

These are the signs of sciatica that tell you it might be time to book an appointment with a professional.

You Experience Numbness

Does your bottom or the back of one or both legs ever feel numb? Do you sometimes feel like you have difficulty standing or walking because you can't feel the muscles well? Do the muscles feel weak? Your sciatica may be the reason for this.

Numbness may not feel as bad as the pain you feel in your lower back, but that does not mean it's a great thing. The numbness you experience can make life more difficult.

You Struggle to Walk

Do you have problems walking? Do you struggle to participate in daily exercise? You aren't alone, and sciatica is one of the biggest causes of sudden muscle weakness. Many people are mystified when this happens, especially without the presence of pain.

You Experience Shooting Pain

Do you feel pain shooting down your legs or just one leg? This shooting pain could be your nerves, and you may feel that pain anytime you try to put weight on one side of the body. This can be concerning, especially if you feel that pain every time you try to walk. This pain may be constant, day after day, or it could come up every once in a while.

You Lose Your Balance

Since sciatica often affects one side of the body more than the other, you may find yourself suddenly off-balance at times. If you struggle to maintain an upright position, it may be time to see a chiropractor to see where the imbalance lies.

Nothing Seems to Help

In many cases, nothing seems to help sciatica. Sciatica can grow worse without treatment, which is why chiropractors recommend that you come in as early on as possible. When you receive treatment as soon as you experience pain, the chances that the pain lasts are slim.
